　この本は、Ａ・スミスに始まってから近代経済学までの流れとその与えた影響を示した本である。著者による理論的説明が施されているので、どの問題の何がいけなくて、何が良かったかということが分かりやすい。ただ、大学2年生程度の経済学を学んでいないと、読みこなすには難しいだろう。しかしながら、本書で世界観が広がった観がある。著者は碩学であるということを改めて思い知った。

理論家の宇沢先生のわかりやすい著作。

経済学というと、経済の歴史ではなく、経済学の歴史を語りたがるところが気がかりである。
経済という現物を見ないと、経済学という原理の価値が下がるのではないかと思った。

この感想は、経済学部を卒業してから２５年離れていて、初めて気がついた。
誰にでも分かれというつもりはない。

5.0 out of 5 stars アダムスミスから制度派経済学に至る流れ, 2007/8/26
　宇沢弘文氏による、経済学の学説史の趣があるが、1989年1月20日第一刷でお分かりのように、時代背景がソ連型社会主義崩壊前であり、レーガン米大統領の経済政策を意識した著述となっている。
　敢えて本書の特徴と要約を行うと、アダムスミスに始まり経済学が独立した領域を持つ科学として発達する中で、新古典派経済学の批判者としてのソースティン・ヴェブレンを位置づけ、ジョージ・アカロフとジョーゼフ・スティングリッツに連なる経済学の流れに対する著者のシンパシーが滲み出ている点にある。
　本書をより理解するために、『社会的共通資本』を読まれることをお勧めしたい。
