気軽に、簡単に使えることが特徴の3Dグラフィックスソフト。新たにリアルな画像を作れるレンダリング機能が追加され、より本格的な3Dソフトに進化。人物や小物を1500点以上の3D素材(ライセンスフリー)からドラッグし、ポーズや動作を選ぶだけで、簡単に3Dのリアルな静止画やアニメーションを作ることができる。さらに、人体作成機能や3Dマンガ機能で楽しんだり、プロも認めた基本機能で作品を作り込めるなど、幅広く利用可能。レンダリング(仕上げ表示)機能は大域照明(GI)を使えるうえ、マルチコアCPUにも対応し、本格的なCGを体験できる。
作成した作品は、Webで公開できるほか、姉妹品「さし絵スタジオ」用の3D素材として利用が可能。また、他のソフトとも連携が可能で、メガソフト社3DマイホームデザイナーLS/LS2/PRO5~6などに色情報付きで3D形状を出力できる。

これだけが入門に適したソフトかというと自信は無いが、少なくとも私は六角から入りました。私が３DCGを始めたときは六角大王にはレンダリング機能が無くてモデリングまで六角でやってあとは他のソフトでやってました。それはそれで他のソフトのことも勉強できたから無駄な経験ではなかったけれど、この六角大王６にはレンダリング機能付き。初心者も最後まで楽しめるソフトであることは喜ばしいです。
そのレンダリング機能も決して敷居の高いものではなく、「とりあえずソフトを触って遊んでいろいろ試せる」という面白みがあります。ソフトとして十分に遊べる、しかも安い！
さらにPOSERやlightWave等との連携も良く、六角大王６は凄いソフトだと思います。

Super4から愛用していますが
仕上げ表示機能（レンダリング）が六角大王自体で出来るようになり
さらに３DCGの入門に最適なソフトになったと思います
