父と娘の近親相姦がテーマとなって、過去に時間を遡りながら物語は進んでいきます。
父も娘もある意味ストレートで、稚拙で純粋な愛を貫いています。
倫理の壁を突き破っていながら、どこか二人とも（娘はそりゃそうなのですが）幼く、無自覚なままです。
特に、父がどうしてこんな人間となってしまったのか、
過去に遡って物語が展開するのならば、もっと種明かしというか、描ききって欲しかった気がします。
ましてや、その後の二人についてももう少し書いて欲しいですし、
もっと読者に親切でもよかったのではないかと思います。
あと、二人も人を殺めてしまう必然性があったかなと…。
逃げ回れてしまっていることへの不自然さも気になりますし、どうにも違和感が拭えませんでした。

ただ、読むのを途中で止めちゃおうという感じでもなく、
いろいろ引っかかりを感じながらも、最後まで一気に読み切れたのは、
そんな矛盾、引っかかりを押しのける筆者の文章力、構成力なのかも知れません。
（かなり表現がしつこいところもあるのですが…）

あとはラスト。
もう少し他の描き方があった、できたのではないかと思い、ちょっと残念でした。。。

誰もが絶賛する内容だと思っていたが、ここを見て好みが別れる小説だと知った。
初めて読んだ桜庭一樹だ。好きになった。
凄く巧い。登場人物の心理や動きに不自然なところはなくて、父娘の心が歪にからみあっていく様は、なんともリアルだ。また登場人物周辺の登場人物の行動や、心理状態もとてもリアル。（主人公の男の恋人とか）こういう女の子は存在しそうに思える。過去にさかのぼっていく構成もいい。こんな硬質なおぞましさは、なかなか他の小説では味わえない。

近親相姦という題材を使いながらも大きく取り上げる程表現が「稚拙」「気持ち悪い」わけでは無いと思います。
気持ち悪いと思うのは近親相姦自体をそう思う人が大多数だろうし、桜庭一樹の文章表現は高く評価出来ます。
この手の小説にしては題材や内容は重くても読みやすい方だと思います。
ラノベから入ってきた作家さんだから余計に評価が厳しくなる点もあるかと思います。
実際この作品に関してもリアリティがない→元ラノベ作家だから…
という意識があるように思えますが
そもそも「ライトノベル」という定義はとても曖昧なもので
リアリティがない=ラノベ
ではないと思います。
確かに文学としてはまだ発展途上な感じも所々見受けられますが作家の経歴見てラノベがうんたらいうのは短絡的すぎると思います。
