「一般的に、猫は同じ記憶を３日しか保持できない。」と言われています。
そこで「猫でもわかる」の意味とは、そんな人にも「わかる・理解できる。」
という比喩だと解釈しています。

さらっと読んだだけですが、今回の改訂で変わった部分を大雑把に紹介したいと思います。

1.練習問題が全て刷新。
2.Visual C++ 2008 Express Editon のインストール/使い方の解説に変更。
3.セキュリティ強化バージョン関数に関する補足（約9行）の追加。
4.各種解説の加筆修正（一部）
といった感じで、全体的にブラッシュアップされた印象です。

プログラム以外にも、コンピュータの仕組みなどが冒頭で軽く解説されているので、これか
らプログラミングを始めようと考えている人に読んでもらいたい書籍です。

また、簡単なツールを作成するときに、解説されているサンプルコードが参考になります。
余分なコードを書いてないので、眺めながら頭の中で、処理を考察するのに最適です。

これ一冊で、C言語の基本と魅力を十分に学習することができると思います。

前半から中盤にかけての解説（関数・制御文など）はユモーラスな文章とあいまって
非常に分かりやすいのですが、後半に入っていくにつれサンプルコードに対する解説が
どんどん雑になっていきます。
「ん？なんだこのコードの記述は？初めてみるが…おいおい解説なしかよ！」という具合です。
後半部分というのはC言語で重要なな部類に入る（ポインタ・配列・構造体）です。
初心者の読者を置いてけぼりにして突き進んでゆく仕様です。
これに関してはもっと分かりやすい本を参考にした方がよいでしょう。

初心者でもよく理解できるように考えられて書かれており、最初から読みながら演習問題をやっていくと自然にC言語プログラミングが出来るようになっておりました。当然C言語を職業として行うには実践の積み重ねが必要です。本書はC言語の基礎を確実に学ぶに最適な本でした。
