Mayday's latest album reflects the band's growing maturity. The tracks are more defined, with full-scale orchestral arrangements intermingled with electric guitars. However, as the band becomes more popular, the songs also reflect a more mainstream Mando-pop influence (unlike their earlier works). The lyrics in "Born to Love" depict the band's gradual move into conventional pop music, with love and heart-break themes that are the staple of chart-topping tracks. Nevertheless, Mayday delivers a well-balanced album, organized seamlessly with opening and ending tracks, and climaxing with faster-paced songs like "Perfume", and finally toning down with "A Thousand Centuries". Despite "Born to Love"'s pop-influenced music and lyrics, Mayday still holds true to well-rounded works.
