シリーズキャラが出てこない分、鮫島の魅力がストレートに伝わってくる。
この新宿鮫は、シリーズ作品を読み進めて行くうちに、
鮫島の人間性が次々に出てくる。
まるで読者の鮫島像に肉付けしてくれるように、
毎回違った鮫島が発見できる。
今回は友情に厚い男。
あるいは、意気に感じる男。


この作品は、在日朝鮮韓国人というちょっと扱いにくいテーマを
うまく料理している。
古山の最後の一言に、
大沢在昌の在日観が出ているようで
好感が持てる。

久しぶりに睡眠不足になる本に出会った。新宿鮫シリーズははずれがない、良質なエンターテイメントです。本書でも鮫島の旦那は大活躍。イヤーすごくいいですよ。今年の猛暑、熱帯夜で眠れない夜にはうってつけです。中身については今回書きません。みなさん鮫島警部の活躍を自分の目で見てみよう。

その信念故、堕せず群れる事をしない、つよき男。
その誇りは舞台を変えても、決して折れる事はなかった。
自分を信じてくれた者達の力となる為、そのたたかいは始まった。

単なる勧善懲悪ものとして、大上段に振りかざされるのではなく、いわば当たり前の正義感に根ざしている筈なのが、何故にカッコイイのか。

主人公の現在の立場を決定づけた過去の因縁が明かされるにあたり、決して納得ずくでもたらされた経緯ではなかった事が分かります。

この辺、物語の経過と共に故人への赦しみたいなものも滲んでいて、単純に語られるより「友情」に厚みがあって良かったと思います。

これを根底として、初めて出逢い、たった一晩語り合った人間との関わりもいきるな~と読み進んでいただけに、その終末は哀しいものがありました。

その他、登場人物群も魅力あるキャラクターでありながら、この作品の位置付け上、今後等あまり多くを期待する事は出来ないかも知れません。
力あるシリーズなので、また次作以降の展開が大いに楽しみです。
