今まで読んだパラノーマル作品の中で一番おもしろかったです。某有名ロマンスサイトでも証明しているとおり、（レビュー書き込み時では）ランキング1位です。私的にはヒーローがヒロインに一途なのがツボでした。著者の創ったパラノーマルの世界も解説が載っていて、読みやすくなっています。スピン作品の翻訳が待ちどうしいです。

大流行のパラノーマルものですが、この作品、出てくる人外生物の皆さんの種類がかなり多い。ヴァルキリーってのはお初じゃないでしょうか？

ヒロイン・エマはヴァルキリーと吸血鬼の混血という変わり種。
そんなヒロインがどういうわけか、人狼（ライキー）の王ラクレインに伴侶として見初められ、さらわれてしまいます。ライキーは吸血鬼と敵対しており、ラクレインは吸血鬼に捕まり拷問をうけていました。１２００年探し続けた伴侶の気配にちからを振り絞って脱出し、いざ出会ってみれば彼女はにっくき吸血鬼。どうしようもない本能から伴侶として認識してしまったものの、エマにつらくあたってしまうラクレイン。
種族違いのせつないロマンス…とはならないのが、私は気に入りました。

今作のみどころはヴァルキリーのおねえさまがた。
スーパーモデルのような容姿でも恐るべき戦士である彼女たちは、雷を糧とし、ショッピングとプレゼントとマニキュアが大好き。娘のようにかわいがってきたエマをさらったラクレインを「犬ころ！」と罵倒し、躊躇無く宣戦布告。
エマもヴァルキリー要素をたっぷり持っており、最初はおびえまくりの彼女がだんだん強くなっちゃいます。
脇役の魅力的なおねえさまがたが主役の続編もあるようで、とっても楽しみ♪
吸血鬼ロスと「美貌のミスト」、ラクレイン弟と「百発百中のルシア」のカップルはど〜なるんでしょう？

不死の者たちが〈ローア〉という社会を作り、人間たちにまぎれて暮らしている現代。ヒロインはヴァンパイアとヴァルキリーのハーフ。ヒーローは彼女を運命の“伴侶”と悟ったライキー(人狼)の王。ヒーローが長年、宿敵のヴァンパイアに捕らわれ拷問を受けていた直後であることも重なり、種族の違う二人の仲はなかなかうまくいきません。やがて、二人は〈ローア〉の世界では五百年に一度、自然発生的に起こる“大決戦”の波にのみ込まれていきます。

話の設定や、背景はいいと思います。本国ではシリーズ化されており、近々第六作が刊行されるとのこと。
ただ、問題はヒーローです。拷問後の異常な精神状態、ヒロインが憎いヴァンパイアであること(当初ヒーローはヒロインがハーフであることを知りませんでした)を差し引いても、説明もせずにいきなりレイプまがいの行為に及ぶのはいかがなものかと…。ヒロインが心底怖がっていました。物語が進むにつれ、徐々に落ち着きを取り戻していき、ヒロインを必死に守ろうとする頼もしいヒーローぶりを発揮してくれるものの、第一印象の悪さが後を引き、結局いまいち好感が持てないまま話が終わってしまいました。

ちなみに、おそらく次回作以降で主役を張るであろう二組のカップルが登場します。個人的には彼らのその後の方が気になるので、続編が出たら買うと思います。
