子供の頃、うっかりテレビで見てしまったトラウマ映画です。エンディングが微笑ましくもあり、悲惨でもありました。今観ると現在でも現役バリバリのジャンカルロ・ジャンニーニが男の魅力を爆発させています。大人のおとぎ話ですね。みんな多かれ少なかれこれに近い想像をしたことがあるのではないでしょか。最強の女性軽視映画ともとれそうですがほんのちょっとの夢だったんだから許して欲しい映画です。

中学生の頃テレビで一度観たが、その時は「エッチっぽい映画」という印象が強かった。でも大人になった今観ると、実に奥深いテーマで、観終わってからも余韻が長く続く作品。途中、暴力的なシーンもあるが、それを観て「セクハラ」などとくだらない事を言う人は必ず居るだろうなぁと思ったが、テーマはそんなところではなく、原始時代の男と女の生活を描いたような作品。この映画の主人公の男は、根性の曲がった女の心を叩き直したのだ。生きるために男がウサギを殺した時、女は「殺されたのね。私とおなじ」と涙した。そう、その時、曲がった根性だったそれまでの彼女は殺され、生まれ変わったのだ。当り前のように食べ物に文句を言い、捨てていたであろう彼女が、毛皮を剥ぎ取られたウサギに過去の自分を映したのだろう。ネタバレになるので結末は言えませんが、私はこの映画が「THE END」で終わってからも、2人の島での物語の続きを勝手に想像している。壮絶で美しく、ちょっとビターな物語です。
