ビートルズにしろジョンにしろ、需要があるからベストアルバムが発売されると思う。勿論理想としてはオリジナルアルバムが安くなるほうが良いに決まっているけど、手軽に聞ける入門偏の存在は非難するに値しないと思う。
ジョンを自分の中で完結させたいかもしれないけど、多くの人に聞いてもらえるのはすばらしいことでしょう。一枚アルバムが出ればそれだけ新しいリスナーが増えるということ。さらに好きになればオリジナルアルバムを買えばいいだけのこと。もう前提としてのベストアルバム非難の考え方は古いんじゃないんですか？必要ないなら無視して買わなければいいし、非難することによって新規リスナーを遠ざけるのはもったいないと思いませんか？
ジョンの曲群は歌詞・メロディー共にほんとにすばらしいです。まだ聞いたことのない方、ぜひ聞いてみてください。

音がいい・・・ジョン・レノンのソロアルバムはプロデュースが悪くずっと音が悪かった。
ここ数年のリマスターやリミックスで格段に音質が良くなった。
今回、残る二枚のオリジナルアルバムのリマスター・リミックスで完了らしいが、
このベスト盤にもその新しいリミックス等が使用され格段に素晴らしい音質に生まれ変わっている。
レジェンドなどのベスト盤を買うより、この音質の良い方を薦めます。
それがこのCDの売りでもあると思う。
また、時系列で聞くことに飽きた者にも新鮮に響く曲順になっており
ジョン・レノンを初めて聞く人にも親しみやすい曲順である。
このベスト盤を聴いて興味が湧けば他のオリジナルアルバムに手を伸ばせば良いと思う。

唯一不満なのがLOVEのイントロのフェイドインは長過ぎです。３０秒待たなければならない。

音もきれいだし選曲も良いと思います。
ジョンの音楽は評論や理屈の前に心に響くかどうかだと思いました。
ずっと聴いてきましたが最近心に響きます。
屁理屈を言わずに心に響くかを確認することです。
