　連載されてから約20年も経つのですね。以前はモーニングに “逮捕しちゃうぞ” なども連載されていたパーティなる増刊があって、それがこの作品との出会いでした。
　
　当時、F１が中継され始めたころでモータースポーツに興味があった者としては、ドライバーがキャラクターとして出てくるマンガがキャッチーだったのかも知れません。

　それがこんなにもはまってしまうとは。

　水玉生活は “豆ゴハン” や “誰寝” のような特定のキャラクターが出てくるストーリー性のあるものではなく、作者の体験、聞いた話などをイラスト化したエッセイのような作品。

しかし、“豆ゴハン” や “誰寝” に通じるゆる〜さは相変わらずです。

　今回は作品集ということなので “豆ゴハン” の後にマグナム増刊に連載していた “そのワケは。” 他が収められております。

　読みそびれたことが多かったので有難い限りです。

　出版社が違うので無理なんでしょうけれど、以前作者がRALLY・X紙に連載していた４コママンガ（当然WRCネタ）を載せて欲しかったですね〜。
　RALLY・Xを出版していた山海堂は倒産してしまったはず。もう日の目を見ることはないのでしょうか？

　出来れば講談社さんにこの４コママンガを単行本化して欲しいですね。他の作品同様に地味〜に売れると思いますよ。

リアルタイムで読んでいた私には、
とても嬉しい一冊でした。
誰も寝てはならぬの方たちが若かりし頃？
バブル真っ盛り、いけいけどんどん←死語
という時代です。
ゆるさたっぷり。
でも、今読んでも、そんなに違和感ないのは、
どうしてだろう？
あ、私も歳をとったからか（笑

1993年に出たワイドKCモーニングの文庫化…ではありません。各回のサブタイトルがモーニング・パーティー増刊掲載時のものなので、当時の原稿かパーティー増刊を底本に、改めて文庫化したものです。B5版の掲載誌ならだいたい読めた描き文字が、A5版の単行本を経由して、A6版の文庫版とさらに小さくなっておりますので、是非とも虫メガネを用意してご覧くださいマセ。
