先頃解散した“死霊軍団”が2年強の間にメジャーに残した作品から選曲されたベスト盤。素性をぼかした怪しげなイメージのもと、ひたすら威勢のよい狂騒サウンドの追求に驀進してライヴの現場で熱烈な支持者を得ていたキャラクターを反映し、煽り一発の轟音チューンも多数収録。あまりに個性的な存在感のゆえか商業的には派手にスポットライトを浴びたバンドではなかったが、本気と冗談の境界線で炸裂と熟練を掛け合わせ、独特の世界を着実に築いていたことが改めて思い知らされる。惜しいバンドをなくした。 (平野和祥) --- 2001年01月号

１曲目から飛ばしてますな。TUSKの声は好き嫌い分かれますが、この怒涛のサウンドにはTUSKの声じゃないとついていけないでしょう。勢いで押しているように聞こえますが、非常に難しいプレイをしています。曲もメロディアスです。結構年輩な人達（失礼）がこんなロックなことやっているなんて、日本もまだまだ捨てたもんじゃないです。「きみ」が入っているのが◎。

そう昔のバンドさながらにライブでの観客動員を伸ばしつつあるなか、彼らはメジャー契約を得た。
メンバーは偽名を使っているが、ベースの戸城氏の曲を中心として、ドラムに新美氏。ギターに横関氏。後に石井氏が後任ギタリスト。ボーカルにはTuskこと板谷氏を起用。

メンツから言えばテクニカル集団だが、その音楽性は敢えて早弾きを捨てバンドならではのグルーブを生かした曲でファンを魅了してきた。
各アルバム、ライブにおいても彼らは圧倒的な破壊力、爆発力を武器にして昇りつつあった。突然のTuskの脱退、事務所の倒産。…この不幸さえ続かなければ、このバンドはもっとセールスを伸ばしてきただろう。

彼らの最後の作品となったこのベストアルバムは定番のナンバーから、シングルのカップリン!グとしてのみ発表されていた名曲。そして「#0022」の恐らくプリプロ音源で締められている。（表題はEvils Forevier)

2003年の現在では戸城氏がジギーではやれなかった音楽の断片と捉えるべきか。ヘビーなものハードなものスピード感あるロック好きな洋楽ファンに特にオススメ。

そう、この勢い、ノリ、熱気、ほとんどの曲がライブ映えするんだなぁ。
1st~3rdアルバムまで、このバンドの楽曲の良さが光っていた。もちろんエンジニアの赤波江氏の存在も大きい。バンドにとって良い音を取る。ミックスも上手い。しかも作業が半端じゃなく早い。こんな敏腕エンジニアは日本に何人いるだろう？　Dack LEEこと戸城氏がこの後に組むバンド「BAD SIX BABYS」においても彼をエンジニアに起用し続けたのは互いの信頼ゆえだろう。
スラットバンクスの１番の魅力はそのライブにあった。それを証明するかのように「死霊のロクンロール」と題するライブビデオもリリースされていた。

相次ぐ不幸により、このバンドは解散してしまうが、R&Rファンは彼らを彼らの楽曲をわすれないだろう。それこそこのアルバムタイトル「EILS FOREVER」である。
