4.0 out of 5 stars どこまでも｢少年漫画｣として．, 2005/3/2
前巻(第5巻)のレビューで俺は「これは少年のための作品ではない｣と書いた。
古き良き時代の等身大ヒーローの象徴、赤いマフラーを身につけて颯爽と活躍するカズキの姿は
かつて少年だった大人達に向けられたものだと解釈したからだ。
だが、本当に大人のため｢だけ｣に書かれた作品ならば、
何故ジャンプという超メジャーの少年誌で連載されなければならなかったのだろうか？

この巻でカズキは｢人間に害を為す忌むべき存在｣としてブラボー始めとする再殺部隊の攻撃を受けることになる。
「少年」カズキは生きていくために最も尊敬する｢大人」のブラボーを乗り越えて行く。
｢力」と「正義｣の関係が逆転した善悪の「非」二項対立図式。
｢正義｣の価値が問い直されている現代の社会に即した、以前の作者なら選ばなかっただろう実に｢今風｣なテーマ。
「少年」カズキは生きていくために最も尊敬する｢大人」のブラボーを乗り越えて行く。
すっかりスマートな優等生になったカズキよりもより(特に少年の)読者に近い感覚を持ったダメ男・剛太の登場や、
よりハッタリを重視し派手さと迫力を増した戦闘シーン、それとは対称的に殆ど挿入されなくなったオタク的なギャグ。
ここにきての急激な作中世界の転換は、テーマを追求するあまりマニアックになりすぎてしまった嫌いのあったL.X.E.編をリセットし、
キッチュを狙いつつもあくまでも王道少年向け路線を貫くという作者の意思の表れではないか。

｢武装錬金｣は確かに、今のジャンプ漫画の傾向に沿わない、ダサくて古臭くて変な漫画である(ワザとやってるんだが)。
だけど、もしも今の少年達がこの漫画を手に取ってくれるときが来たならば、
自らの手を汚してでも正義を貫かんとするブラボーの決意に、
それでも愛する者の為生きたいと欲するカズキの意思に、
カッコだけのハッタリ野郎共が絶対に教えてくれない何かを感じ取って欲しいのだ。

内容的には連載１年突破を迎えたあたりの第６巻です。
最初の方は超・熱血展開で、「武装錬金」ここにあり！って感じです。
戦い終わっての久々のコメディパートもあり、
「やっぱこの漫画はテンション上がるよなー」とか思ってたら、
真ん中あたりで展開一変、いきなりダーク展開です(笑)

ブラボー初登場時から和月先生は将来的なブラボーとカズキとの対決を
想定していたそうですが、やはりこの展開はファンにとってはあまり
実現して欲しくなかったでしょうね。
ブラボーは人気投票でも上位に入ったキャラですし・・・。

今の段階では本誌でも再殺部隊編が終わっていないため、この新章が
どのような決着を見るのかはわかりませんが、この展開が最後には
救われる形になる事を強く望み、また期待したいと思います！

オビとか裏表紙の紹介を読んだらわかることですけど、少年漫画としてはなんとも深刻な展開になってきました。
初めのころの勧善懲悪ぶりからは予想もできないダークさ。
「悪いやつら」と「いいやつら」がいて、ごく普通の少年だった主人公がその戦いに巻き込まれて、与えられた力と持ち前の正義感で戦い抜き、守り抜き、だんだんとヒーローの力を身につけていく…、
…だけじゃない！んですね。
自分の意思に反してもたらされた力。
それによって起こる、敬愛し、味方だと思っていた人物との敵対…。
もともと、単純素朴な骨組みの周辺にいろいろと深刻で面白いテーマが埋め込まれたマンガでしたけど、この巻でその前景と背景が逆転した感じ。
ダークマンガ好きとしては垂涎の展開。面白くなってきた！
