ロマンアルバム待望の復刻！私はこの時を２０年待った。

というのは、この本の中に“君だけのガンダムマニュアルブック（アムロが偶然拾ったやつ）を作ろう！”という企画があって、それにのせられて映画版の３冊をばらばらにバラしてしまったのだ。しかし当時まだ鼻タレ小僧だった私が３冊の本を編集し直すなんて芸当ができるはずもなく、結局挫折し、本をバラしたことをずっと後悔していたのだ。

そんなことはともかく、本書はガンダムマニアを自負する者は必携のアイテムである。まさに空前絶後、ザ・バイブル、ザ・クロニクルといえるものだ。

とにかく設定画の豊富さ、詳細な解説において他のガンダム関連書物の比ではない。加えて安彦良和、大河原邦男、中村光毅各氏のイラスト（綴じ込みポスター含め）あり、さらにスタッフのインタビュー、声優同士の座談会、アフレコ台本、おまけに楽曲の楽譜まで、ありとあらゆるガンダムに関するデータがある。私のガンダムに関する知識はほとんどこの本から得たと言っても過言ではない。この本なくして、君は生きのびることができるか？

ひとつ注意して頂きたいのは、このロマンアルバムシリーズは劇場版３冊とテレビ版の計４冊揃えなければ意味がないということである。是非揃えるべし。

みなおー！！！と思う表紙のアイカメラの色が違うガンダム。。。わたしはこれを小学6年生の時に宝にしていたが、その後の人生の遍歴のうちに記憶からも消失してしまっていた。後続のガンダムシリーズも見る気が起きなかったし、今放送中のシードは非常にその点で私たちの世代を喜ばせてくれている。やはり単なるロボットアニメを超えた哲学が確かにあったのだ。
