5.0 out of 5 stars 劇映画の世界を捨ててもいいかな、と思うきっかけの作品です。, 2008/3/3
学生時代に、色々と映画を見まくっていたころ、
ひょんなことから出会うことになったのが、本ＤＶＤでした。

そして、この世紀の傑作と言えるドキュメンタリー映画に出会ったことが、
その後の私の映画鑑賞人生を一変させることになったのです。

この映画で描かれているのは、
カナダ北部に住む原住民であるイェスキモーの一家を追うというもの。

映像作成の時代的背景からか、サイレント仕様になっていますが、
字幕があるおかげで（むしろ無くても）、十分に内容理解になります。

映像も大変古いものですが、映像に宿っている作品の濃密さが、
古さをまったく感じさせない程のリアリティーを保っています。

たとえ、映像がドラマでなくても、
また、映像の演出をＣＧなどに頼らなくても、
充分にその内容の時間の濃さによって、作品は成り立つということ、

こうしたことを啓示のように伝えてくれるのは、
なかなか出会うことのできない機会です。

この作品を観てからというもの、
劇映画に対する嫌悪感が激しくなってしまって、

とりわけ、演出・表現に対する今まで以上に意識が高まってしまって、
ほとんどと言っていいほど観なくなってしまいました。

そして、そこから、単館上映系のドキュメンタリー映画にどっぷりと漬かって

　２　イメージフォーラム　　　　　　（渋谷）
　３　ユーロスペース　　　　　　　　（渋谷）
　４　ドイツ文化会館　　　　　　　　（赤坂）

などといったセンター及び映画館・映画祭に足しげく通うことになりました。


劇映画の演出過剰に辟易している方、
表現とは露出することなの、と疑問視している方、
また表現世界の新たな地平を求めている方、

こういった積極的に芸術の世界を求めている人にこそ
是非ともおすすめしたい作品だと思います。
