1944(昭和19)年、東京生れ。東京写真大学中退。流通業界誌の編集長を経て、現在は作家、「本の雑誌」編集長、映画監督など幅広い分野で活躍。著書に『アド・バード』(日本SF大賞)『犬の系譜』(吉川英治文学新人賞)など(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

椎名誠を囲む目黒、沢野、木村の面々の友人関係に関してはどこにでもありそうでいて、なかなか得がたい点で非常にうらやましい。
今回の作品では、本の雑誌の創刊時における混沌とした状況が描かれており、それに絡み合っている４人の友人関係が面白い。

椎名の熱情に対を成すかのような目黒の冷静さ、そこに沢野のオトボケぶりが度々顔を出す状況は２０年前から何も変わってないようである。
個人としては、群ようこの登場も興味深かったので、そのあたりも楽しく拝見させていただいた。

行動派で骨太なんだけど、それが自然体なのが椎名誠さん。
「血風録」なんて題名を見ると「ナンダナンダ、すごそうだな」なんて身構えてしまいそうだけど、
中身は「自然体的」「場当たり的」「精力的」「無計画的」……
立身出世、というのとはちょっと違うんだけど、いろいろ迷ったり失敗したりしながら

「ナントカナルダロ、ガハハ！」となんとかしてしまう椎名さんたちの姿が時に頼もしく、時におかしく。
なにか成し遂げてやりたいことを抱えながら不安やイライラと日々を暮らしている人に
爽快さと勇気を与えてくれる一冊です。

　読む度、他人事ながら「哀愁の街に~」の頃が懐かしくなる。会社員
としてのシーナ、仲間たちとはしゃぐシーナ、徐々に才能を目覚めさせ
ていくシーナ。大きな子供が、大きな大人になっていく道程。様々な椎
名誠がせめぎ合っていた、まさに”その時”を切り取った佳品だ。
