海に異変が起こった…水が引き、魚たちが騒ぎ出し、風が止んだ。ラナはテレパシーでそのことをコナンに伝え、皆を避難させた。間もなく島全体を飲み込んでしまう程の大津波が襲った。戦意をなくしたインダストリア兵は降参し、村は彼らを受け入れ、共に復興に励む。一方コナンは、ラオ博士と住民たちを案じて、またインダストリアへ行く決意を固めていた。それにはモンスリーの協力が不可欠なのだが…。

この回でコナンとラナを追いかけていたモンスリーさんの心境が変わります。

幼い頃、戦争によって家族と飼い犬を目の前で失ったモンスリーさんは
インダストリアの独裁者レプカの尖兵としてテロリストにも等しい冷酷な兵士になってしまいました。
敗戦の後、平穏な村のひと時、遊んでいた子犬を見て、忘れていた過去を思い出して・・・。

あれだけ、酷い目に合わされていたのに、
コナンはモンスリーさんの微妙な変化に気づいて話しかけ、そして彼女を信じるんですね。
その姿を見て、鉄の女のモンスリーさんも、素の自分に戻り
コナンとラナを護ることを決意します。
もう、頼もしくて、優しいこと！！

幼心に嬉しかったし、モンスリーさんかっこよかったなあ。
今でも理想の女性像です。
