私が初めて買ったアジカンのＣＤはこのＣＤでした。
ロックでエモーショナル、必死だけどもムラが無く、そのなかでキラキラと輝く詞、未来の破片をはじめて聞いた時のイメージです。
久々にとても衝撃を受けた一枚でした。ロックファンとして、強くこの楽曲をお勧めします。

現在、日本におけるロックの存在感は弱くなりつつある。
音の性質を変える技術や、音圧を上げる技術、果ては異色の音色を作り出すテクノロジーが発展したためか、本来のロック色がそれらの影響で褪せてしまっている。
シンセサイザー色の強いロックなど、最早それはロックではない。
ロック好きな私がこういった気持ちを持つようになったのは、自然のことだった。
ギター、ドラム、ベースの生音をわざわざ機械音によって壊すような音楽に反吐が出ていた。

そんな中、私はたまたま見たCMの主題歌として「未来の破片」を聴いた。
衝撃であった。
先に挙げた音楽たちをあざ笑うかのように流れ出したその音楽。
そしてそれを作る人たちは瞬く間に私を魅了した。
激しいロックチューンとなっているが、そこにはどこか切なさがあるようなものとなっている。

本来のロック音が好き、バンドを組みたい又は組んでいる人たちは、ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATIONに深くハマるはずだ！
少なくとも、現代の音楽の性質にうんざりしている人は衝撃を受けるだろう。

このシングルに収録されている曲の歌詞には、なかなか聞かない表現が多用されていて、初めて聞いた人は違和感を感じるかもしれません。でもこの曲は１回聞いただけで歌にこめられた思いがストレートに伝わってくるしカッコイイと思えるのがすごいんです。それは飾りではない歌詞と、歌詞を引き立たせるメロディを作ることのできる作詞・作曲・ボーカルを担当する後藤さんのセンスのよさであり、バンド全体のパワーだと思います。なんか偉そうに語りましたが、本当にこのシングル捨て曲なしです。

音が重厚で、熱い！叫ぶ系は耳障りに思ってしまうことがあるけど、アジカンは、心がこもってる漢字がするから、耳障りも良い。
