え！、そんな作り方があったんだ。え！材料も工夫次第でお好みに作れるんだ。え！出来映えのユニークさに満足満足。カービング初心者の私にとっては目からウロクの大金星の本です。
私の知っている知識と常識を超えた、単純明快な作り方とユニークさに脱帽です。特に仏様の
作り方などは今まで想像もしない作りですが、実に簡単にそして見事な出来映えになりました
これを機に１００体観音にチャレンジします。知ると言う事の楽しさ、作る（できる）事の
楽しさをあらためて知りますた。

引退して木彫りに興味を持っている父にプレゼントしたいと思い
手ごろな本を探しています。
特筆すべきは積年の作業の後遺症等で握力を損なってしまった
著者が、道具や力の入れ方を工夫して、少ない力で木彫りを楽しむことに
留意している点ではないでしょうか。
非力な方やリハビリに木彫りを取り入れたい方などでも
カービングを始める後押しになる一冊だと思います。
また、手順がカラー写真で載っていることや
割り箸やかまぼこの板などを用材に利用する方法や
刃物の手入れなども細かに載っていて初心者に心強いです。
なにより小さな動物達や仏様がかわいらしく、作ってみたいと
思わせてくれるところがいいですね。
