Since I've watched the concert-DVD "Becoming" I'm a fan of Suzumura-san as an artist as well. This is his 6th single and I can surely say that it differs from his previous songs, but in a good meaning.
First some details:
CD:
1.Tsuki to stove
2.Hanasaka
DVD:
Tsuki to stove (PV)
Like in all his previous releases Suzumura-san has again written both song's lyrics. I have to admit that my japanese is very poor, so I asked a friend of mine to translate roughly the meaning of the songs and explain the story of the PV. Yes, IT has a story, the PV is made like a short movie!
The first song is a love ballad and those who know the rock unit 'Granrodeo' might be surprised to learn that the band's musician e-ZUKA is the composer. The sound is sad and lonely but also kinda warm. 'Hanasaka' in contrast sounds cheerful and bouncy, it's a song about beginning and possibilities.
Suzumura-san's singing has improved significantly if you compare this single with his first album. His voice blends well with the background music and while he sings in 'Tsuki to stove' with a deeper, soulful voice, he changes to a higher, cheerful tone in 'Hanasaka'.
The PV tells a story about losing of loved ones, though it's short I was very touched even though I didn't understand every word of the dialogs. What I notice is that the song is rather a soundtrack in this PV.
The pages of the booklet are illustrated like the one on the cover, the pictures give a nostalgic feeling like you would feel about sweet childhood memories. At least this is how I felt when I was looking at the drawings.:)
I would recommend this single to everyone who likes singing seiyuu or japanese pop generally because I think that also those who aren't particularly fans of Suzumura-san might enjoy it.
