高校野球部の監督となり甲子園の制覇を導くシミュレーションゲーム第3弾。本製品では、ゲームサーバーが大きく変更され、1ライセンスにつき規定のデータエリアを無償で提供。データエリアには、チームデータなどのファイルをアップロードできるほか、他のプレイヤーのデータをダウンロードし、ゲーム内に取り込むことができる。また、オフィシャルなデータをダウンロードする為のDLルームが増え、友達リストという新機能も追加。さらに、自分でチャットルームを作ることや、自分の状態設定やコメント作成が可能になり、対戦中は、チャットルームに入ったまま対戦が可能。また、機材に「移動用バス」が追加され、隣接都道府県への遠征が可能になったほか、試合展開の録画・再生が可能になり、リプレイデータをゲームサーバーにアップロードすることも可能。そのほか、データ対戦モードやスキルが追加され、ベンチ入りは18人に変更。他校の戦力調査、試合速度の整備、トーナメントモードで全員の体調を揃えて同じ状況での試合も可能となった。ゲーム開始時にインターネットを介して自動でアップデート処理を行うため、常に最新のバージョンで遊ぶことができる。
