   1995年から1年間放送されたガンダムシリーズの一作。前作「機動武闘伝Gガンダム」に続き、本作も従来の「機動戦士」シリーズとは異なる世界観に基づいている。
   アフターコロニー195年。地球圏統一連合が軍事力でスペースコロニーを制圧。それに対抗し、一部のコロニー居住者がオペレーション・メテオと呼ばれる反乱作戦を開始。主人公の少年・ヒイロもその中でガンダムに搭乗し、地球へと落ちる。そして事情を知らぬまま彼にひかれていく少女・リリーナ。コロニー、地球対宇宙移民、仮面をつけたライバルなど、ガンダムならではのアイテムを散りばめながらも、続々と登場する美少年キャラと、非常にハードなストーリー展開で幅広いファン層を獲得した作品。TV版のダイジェストに加え、後日談のOVA「Endless Waltz」を加えた3枚組。（田中　元）

１．２枚目は総集編で、３枚目はＯＶＡのＥｎｄｌｅｓｓ　Ｗａｌｔｚです。
総集編にはテレビで放送されなかった、新カットが満載です。ながい戦いが終わってほっとしている五人の姿がみれます。
全巻そろえるのはきついっ!!と思う方にはオススメ！名場面ばかりを集めてあるので、いいとこどりのＢＯＸです。

初代ガンダムから観ていますが、本作が初代ガンダムの系譜を脱して新たなガンダム史を開拓し成功た作品のパイオニアでしょう！

ここまで深く戦争の悲しさ愚かさにアプローチして成功している作品は他に無いと言っても良いくらいです。
そして、世間で「ガンダムは大人が観るアニメ」と認知されはじめた作品だとも思います。

最終話、主人公ヒーロの「俺は・・・　俺は死なないっ！」の台詞にはあまりにも感動してしまい鳥肌が立ちましたっ。。。

放映されて１０年以上経ってもなお、このコレクションBoxの売れ行きが止まらないのは、やっぱり名作であるという証でしょう！

この作品をSEEDシリーズと同じとは思ってほしくないですね。 確かに女性を狙った主人公達ですが無駄に多いファンサービスやベタベタイチャイチャ感もなく、しっかりとした考えをもって戦っています。

ガンダムとしても使い古しばかり使ったりせず、毎回毎回いろんな戦闘があり、機体も格好良くリアルロボットアニメとしても見応えがあります。 本当に死ぬ気で戦っていることが分かります。 単にファンサービスや美形を出しまくったり登場回数、戦闘回数も少ないのに強すぎる機体をだしたり、主人公変更したり、監督が最初と最後で言ってることが違っていい加減だったりのSEEDシリーズと同じだなんて絶対に思ってほしくありません。

この作品はできるだけたくさんの人が楽しめるようにつくられたガンダムシリーズで初めてラジオ、ドラマCD、OVA、映画化された素晴らしいアニメです。
