とりあえずこの曲は売れました。とても印象的なメロディーラインです。
この曲はジャズ・ファンやミュージシャンの間でもすごく話題になりました。カリスマベーシスト、故ジャコ・パストリアスが故郷フロリダを思って作った曲「リバティ・シティ」が元ネタです。

でも、サンプリングの仕方が節操ないんです。原曲のテーマ部分がフレーズ単位でなく、まんま使われていて、リスペクトのかけらもない、悪い見本です。

いくら作曲者側の了解を得たとしても「プロ」としてこれはやってはいけない行為でしょう。このような楽曲を作ったミュージシャン・発売したレコード会社はこのことを恥ずべきです。そういう意味でカッコ悪いJヒップホップの代表曲として語り継がれる名曲です。

初めて聴いたときは驚いた。何だ、コレは？　誰がこんなことをやっている？カヴァーではないし、曲のブレイク部分をサンプリングしている訳でもない。借用は全編に渉る。これはコピーと呼ぶべきだ。ルール違反だ。自分では大した曲が作れないので、こうした愚行を犯す。そう取られても仕方無いだろう。また、このジャズの名曲を脳天気に取り上げた事で、自身のセンスの無さをも露呈している。原曲は知る人ぞ知る隠れた名曲ではない。ジャズファンなら誰でも知っている名曲である。安易にサンプル出来るものではない。彼等がジャコをどの程度愛しているのかは知る由も無いが、洞察力と認識の甘さは致命傷となりかねない。私と同じ様な意見を持った音楽ファン（ジャズファンではない）は少なくないと思う。

ジャコ・パストリアスの「リバティ・シティ」をサンプリングした軽快なナンバー。暖かみのあるライムとフロウで楽しめる。
これをきっかけにKICK THE CAN CREWファンにも、ジャコの名作「ワード・オヴ・マウス」が聴いてもらいたい。
