「忘れ雪」の伝説。。。
春に雪が降ったとき、願い事をすれば必ずかなうよ、
地面に触れた瞬間に消えゆく忘れ雪は、願い事を天に持ち帰って、かなえてくれるって。

忘れ雪の中、お願い事をした少女が出会った初恋の相手。
８年後に偶然の再会をはたし、お互いに愛し合うのだが、というお話。
究極のピュア(純恋)ストーリーなので、「世界の中心で。。」や、「いま、会いにゆきます」が好きな人におすすめしたい小説です。

あと、著者が動物が大好きなようで、この本の主人公は獣医です。
だからペットや獣医の仕事に関して、かなり博学な知識が書いてあり、「動物のお医者さん」にはまった人にも一読してみてほしい。

ただ、昔からの新堂ファン(ハード話好き)には、違和感があるかもしれません。

また、他の方もおっしゃってるように、後半が中途半端にハードで、前半の雰囲気を壊してます。
ところどころ、知識や詰めの甘さも感じられます。
そして私にとっては、かなりわだかまりの残る終わり方でした。

気になる点は多々ありますが、それでも読めてよかったなと思えた小説でした。

気が滅入るのを通り越してもう笑うしかないようなエログロノワールを
書いてきた新堂冬樹が、おセンチな純愛小説を書いた!!

その事実だけでも☆五つの快挙。しかし小説としての完成度を考えると、
残念ながら☆を三つほど引かざをえない。
新堂テイストのやたらクドイ描写は、ノワールの世界でこそ活きるものの、
恋愛小説には不向きではないだろうか。

やりたいことはわかる。泣きのツボを捉えた物語の設定も申し分ない。
しかし筆圧の高さに比べて表現の技術が低いので、出てくる人間が
いちいち嘘臭く、ストーリーの詰めも笑っちゃうくらいに甘い。

金無垢のライターやレンタルビデオ店の会員証が、どうやったら都合よく
ポケットから落ちてくれるというのか。いくら考えてもわからない。

他にも、登場人物の性格に一貫性がなかったり、説明調のセリフを長々と
繰り返したみたり、黒幕の行動が軽率すぎだったりと、
気になる部分がいたる所に見受けられる。

高いテンションと低い情感が売りの新堂冬樹にはやはり、
恋愛小説は無理ではないだろうか。そんな気がして仕方ない・・・・。

前半まではいかにも「純愛小説」という感じでよかったと思う。でも後半からは純愛というよりはサスペンスだった。結末までの流れは無理矢理でこじつけ感が拭えない。結末は拍子抜け。最後くらい幸せで終わらせて欲しかった。
