日本女子プロ将棋協会（LPSA）公認。 盤面3×4の計12マス、駒8枚の小さな世界でくりひろげられる、まったく新しいタイプの将棋ゲーム。 簡易将棋と思いきや、その内容は本格的で奥が深く、こどもから大人まで幅広く楽しめる内容。 現役女流棋士・北尾まどか氏が考案し、同じく女流棋士である藤田麻衣子氏がイラスト・デザインを担当。子どもたちになじみのあるかわいらしい動物が、森の中を動き回り、さいごに森の王様「ライオン」をキャッチできたら勝ちという、楽しいストーリーも魅力のひとつ。

タイトル どうぶつしょうぎ 原題タイトル Let's catch the Lion 会社・出版社 Gentousha educational, LPSA デザイナー M.Kitao プレイ人数 2人 対象年齢 4+ プレイ時間 15分 難易度（5段階、易1<難5） 2 「どうぶつしょうぎ」は、非常に簡略化された将棋です。 初期状態でどうぶつを並べます。 手番になったらコマをうごかします。 最初の仲間たちは「ライオン」「ぞう」「きりん」「ひよこ」の４つ。 それぞれ点がかいてある方向に一歩すすめます。 百獣の王「ライオン」はどうぶつたちのリーダー。となりのマスならどの方向でもすすめます。 たよりがいのある「ぞう」はナナメにすすめます。 首の長い「きりん」はタテヨコにすすめます。 ちっちゃな「ひよこ」は前に一歩だけすすめます。 「ひよこ」が相手のエリア（一段目の空や森）まですすむと、コマをひっくり返して「ニワトリ」に成長して、ナナメ後ろ以外のマスにすすめます。 ・ひとつのマスに2ひきのどうぶつは入れません。 ・相手のどうぶつがいるマスに自分の仲間がすすむときは、そのどうぶつをつかまえて仲間にできます。つかまえたどうぶつは盤の上から取り、仲間として自分の手もとに置きます。 ・持ち駒は、自分の番のときに、空いている好きなマスに置けます。 かちまけは、相手の「ライオン」を先につかまえたほうが勝ち。もしくは自分の「ライオン」が、相手のエリア(空か森)まで先にすすめたら勝ちです。ただし、すすめてもすぐに「ライオン」がつかまってしまう場合は負けです。

盤面のマス目が12マス、手駒が4個だけ。
これで本当に遊べるの？と思っていたが、なかなか侮れない面白さ。
かなり奥が深く、意外と長考してしまう。
子供向けな作りだが、大人のゲームとしても十分通用する。
ただ大人同士（男性）が遊ぶには、ちょっと可愛すぎて恥ずかしいかな。

最初、幼児には難しいのでは・・・と思いましたが、
子どもは呑み込みが早く、全く心配要りません。
将棋初体験の私も4歳の息子も、すぐに楽しめました。
子どもなりに、先の先を考えながら駒を動かしていて、
知育おもちゃとしてもおすすめです。
親子で楽しめるので、これからの寒い冬やお正月にも大活躍しそうです。
子どもが負けて、機嫌が悪くなりかけても、すぐに「もう一回！」と
短時間で何度も勝負できる所も気に入ってます。

他の方のレビューにもある通り、本当に楽しめるのかなあ？？と思いましたが、
５歳の娘も楽しんでます。私は全く将棋初心者なので、疲れていると本気で負けてしまいます…。
駒も木製でとってもかわいいです。
女の子に向いてるかも。
収納の箱が丈夫なのもポイント高いです。

ちょっとした贈り物におススメです。
