2.0 out of 5 stars 回収すればいいってもんじゃない, 2009/4/15
他の方のレビューは読んで覚悟していたのですが、それでもあまりの伊坂節にうんざりさせられました。
伊坂氏の作品、特に「終末のフール」「グラスホッパー」「魔王」「砂漠」を中心に切り貼りした、といった印象です。
会話の軽妙さはそれなりにうまく模倣できていますが、ここで一発良いこと言ってやろうって台詞の安打率は伊坂氏より遥かに低いです。
そして肝心のストーリーはあまりにも稚拙です。そもそもの動機付けが弱い、屋上部という設定がまるで生きていない、そしてなにより、都合良く話が転がりすぎる。偶然の連続で話は進みます。種々張り巡らされた伏線はちゃんと回収されますが、あまりのご都合主義的展開に唖然としました。
このような模造品としか思えない作品を「このミステリーがすごい！」などと売り出す出版社に嫌悪感を抱きました。

２００９年このミス受賞のもう一作。
確かにキャラクターが凄く良い。
主要人物意外の家族のキャラクターや、そこで交わされる会話も実によく、キャラクターが生きている。
ただ、場面設定の表現がイマイチで、頭の中にキャラクターはくっきりと浮かぶが背景がぼやけて映る。
屋上部、という設定も面白い。
前半の屋上でのシーンは結構好きです。
全体としては、確かに、かなり都合良く、話が展開しすぎ。
ミステリーとしては、まずいのかもしれないが、もうここまで行くと、これはこれで良いと思えてしまうぐらい。
後半、やや読むのが辛くなりましたが、あちこちに煌きがあり、今後が楽しみな新人作家です。
ただ、期待の新人ではあるが、大賞受賞作レベルかと言えば…、う〜ん。
このミスの選者の方々、『今年は大賞に該当作品なし！』ぐらいの英断は出来なかったのでしょうか？
おまけに宝島社さん、最終選考の5作品中4作品を出版するというのは、どうなのでしょう。
凄く商業主義的で、ガッカリ…。

タイトルとカバーにひかれ、このミス大賞ということもあり、アタリかと思い買いましたが、もう一つ垢抜けず、感情移入できなかった。面白いエピソードもあるが、どれも中途半端で、広がりはあるものの深さがありません。選評にもありますが、伊坂を意識しすぎでしょう。屋上部という発想自体は、おもしろく、次回作に期待します。
