まだ批判能力の十分でない小学生に偏向を隠して中立を装った論調（比較的良質な新聞もありますが）と下品な広告で溢れた新聞を読ませることは有害としか思えません。
そして、そういったことを措いても新聞に多く感じられる嫌な精神の有り様・・・情報公開及び社員のトラブル等で露呈する他者に厳しく自分に甘い精神。「近隣諸国で議論を呼びそうだ」といった自己の責任を回避しつつ、虎の威を借り反対者を攻撃するするやり方。自分で出来もしないことを高圧的に他者に命じる驕慢・・・そういった精神を子どものうちから身につけてしまったら最低なことと思います。

「読解力」「語彙力」←教科書、古典を読むことで十分身につきます。
「考える力」←新聞の高圧的かつ偽善に溢れた論調などに染まったら思考力を減退させると思います。
「知識」←所詮、専門分野のスキルのない新聞記者の聞きかじりなど（高学年の気概ある小学生にとっては）程度の低い知識でしかないでしょう。

近年の新聞の内容は、有害文書と変わりありません。事実を多面的に評価せず、決めつけによる偏向した内容が多く、読むに値しません。そのようなものを子供の読ませるのは有害であり、本書の内容も、一面的な新聞報道程度の内容となっています。新聞なんか読ませるくらいなら、古典を暗唱させるなど有用な教育を行うべきです。

ありきたりのロジックで書かれた、あまり内容の無い本でした。
そもそも、今の新聞は読むに値するモノでは無くなって来ている気がします。
