これは、ScansnapでA3の書類を取り込むためのキャリアシートです。
ちょうど半分に書類を折って、このシートに挟んでScansnapで取り込むと、画像処理でつないで、元のA3サイズのPDFを作成してくれます。
Scansnap本体にも一枚だけ付属してくるのですが、大量に取り込むなら一枚取り込んでは、また一枚とやるよりも、何枚かまとめて取り込んだ方が作業が効率的です。
また、一枚ずつとりこむと、PDFが別ファイルになってしまい、後で統合するのが面倒。ということで、この5枚入りのキャリアシートを購入しました。
本体付属のとあわせて6枚連続でとりこめるようになったのはやはり大きいですね。これまで、取り込む気にならなかったA3の書類がみるみるうちに処理できました。
気になった点としては、キレイに折らないと、画像処理で真ん中に隙間ができる。これは、まあキレイに折るしかないです。書類によってはなぜか、左右が反対になって合成されてしまう。これはこの商品というよりは、Scansnapの画像処理ソフトの問題ですね。
A3書類をある程度処理しようと考えているなら、本体と同時に購入することをお勧めします。

4.0 out of 5 stars そのままでは読み取りに難がある原稿の読み取りに必須, 2009/8/25
商品説明では古い機種用となっていますが、ScanSnap S1500もこれを使用するということで、本体と同時購入しました。
当然A4以上A3以下の物を読み取るのにも使うのですが、私の場合実際使ってみると、A3原稿読み込みよりもそのままではスキャンしにくい物をスキャンするのに使う事の方が多いです。

例えば
●スクラップや、ポストイット等貼り付けたもの、複数枚を重ねて読み込ませたいとき
●絶対に原稿を損壊したくないもの
●普通では読み取れなさそうな素材の原稿（ティッシュペーパーみたいに柔らかい物や、ビニール類、破れや経年劣化で痛んだ原稿など)
●本体のセンサ部を汚損させそうなもの(カーボン転写したやつとかクレヨンで塗ったようなやつなど）
等々、これにはさめば安全にスキャンできます。

本体は一枚付属していましたが、連続作業するときには一枚じゃ全く足りませんので購入しました。
実はよくあるクリアケースでも代用できるかなと試してみたのですが、原稿がゆがんでしまい全く駄目です。それもそのはず、認識用の特殊マークがついた腰が強く低反射になっている特殊なフィルムでできていて、これ自体かなり工夫がしてありそうです。
使いそうな人、特に古い青焼きやホワイト等で修正された原稿、酸性紙、固まってしまったトレーシングペーパー等を結構スキャンする必要がありそうな人は、同時購入をお勧めします。

正直ここまですごいとは思いませんでした。
下読み程度の速度で原稿が流れていくのにきちんと読んでいます。
しかも、両面同時読みです。

長い間雑誌とかのスクラップを処理したいなと思っていた夢（おおげさか！）がかないます。読めます。取り込んだものはふつうに読めます。ほんとに感動します。

雑誌を綺麗に取り込むために押し切りを買ってしまいました。
スクラップするすべての人にお勧めです。
