42歳山本紀子は子どもの成長とともに家族の団らんが少なくなり，不要になったキャンプ用品をネットオークションにかけることになる。この対し意外な落札価格と相手の評価を受けたことにより，ネットオークションにはまり，少しずつ生活が変化し始める･･･『サニーデイ』

家をテーマにした6編からなる短編集。『マドンナ』『ガール』とテーマは異なっているものの，日常のふとした怒り，悲しみ，欲望･･･などの感情を巧妙にとらえた作品集である。大変な共感を呼ぶわけではないが，お！それ何となく分かる！みたいな感じの微妙な感情のゆれが読んでいてとても心地よい。内容的にはいいのであるが，もっと読みたい！まだ読みたい･･･物足りないのである。

　様々な立場の人の日常が、軽いタッチで描かれている短編集。
　その中で秀逸だったのは、インターネットオークションをテーマとした「サニーディ」。オークションにのめりこんでいく主婦の心情が手に取るようにわかった。自分もオークションを活用するが、似たような気持ちになる。
　ごくありふれた人物の、別に何ということもない日常を題材として書かれているだけに、登場人物に共感する読者も多いのではないだろうか。いつもながら、奥田氏の手法はすばらしい。

オークション大好き人間としては一つ目の「サニーデイ」が気になり、
この本を手に取りました。
”そうそう！””あるある！”と一人うなずきながら楽しく読みました。

二つ目の「ここが青山」はちょっと軽いかなというか、
ダンナさんが仕事を辞めて急に”主夫”になって、
あんなに簡単に家事をこなすものでしょうか。
主婦業をなめてもらっては困ります（笑）

「家においでよ」は、女のわたしでもわくわくするお話でした。
こだわりの部屋がだんだんでき上がっていく様子は、
ホントにうまくできていました。

とにかくどの話も柑橘系のさわやかな感じで、
初夏に読みたい本です。
