中島 らも
1952年兵庫県生れ。大阪芸術大学放送学科卒業。印刷会社勤務、コピーライターをへて、作家に。小説、エッセイ、戯曲、コント、落語など、幅広い分野の作品を多数発表。1984(昭和59)年から10年間、朝日新聞で「明るい悩み相談室」を連載して注目される。’92(平成4)年『今夜、すべてのバーで』で吉川英治文学新人賞、’94年『ガダラの豚』で日本推理作家協会賞長編賞を受賞。’86年には劇団「笑殺軍団リリパット・アーミー」を旗揚げ、’96年にはロックバンド「PISS」を結成。その活動は多岐にわたった。2004年7月26日逝去(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

８０年代といっても、前半と後半でかなり様相を異にする。

マスコミ的に取り上げられるのは、実は後半で、１９８５年プラザ合意以降の
円高基調によるバブル経済と、そのバブルに浮かれた若者文化という図である。
映画『バブルへＧＯ！』を見た人はまさにあれである。

しかし、前半は違った。学生運動が長い後退戦を演じた７０年代を終え、そう
いう重さとは、構えを全く転じたところにユース・カルチャーが花開いていく。
そんな解放感があった。それをリードしたのが雑誌「ポパイ」であり、「宝島」
だった。おじさんくさい注になるけど、今の「ポパイ」や「宝島」は、たとえ
ロゴが同じでも、全く別物です。

その「宝島」のなかでも、異彩を放っていたのが本書に収められた、『かね
てつ広告　啓蒙かまぼこ新聞』である。村上春樹の奥さんをして、かねてつと
いう企業をでっちあげて、中島らもという人が広告という体裁で遊んでいる
と言わしめたというまさに伝説の広告である（旧版の村上春樹による解説
「中島らもとニューウェストの台頭」参照。本書解説に一部採録）。

まとめて読むと、しばし、あの時代の空気にタイムトリップできます。いろいろ
演出すれば合法ドラッグとして楽しめそうなディープさをも、勿論もっています。

初めて読む若い人は、理屈抜きでも楽しめるので安心して下さい。でもオジサン
世代の奥深さ（？？）を味わってもらえると幸甚。

中島らもさんの本です。コピーライター時代の初期の作品だそうです。かまぼこ屋さんのブラックな4コマ漫画中心です。冒頭に自筆の企画書があり、その破天荒さがわかります。全体に、らりっているというか酔いどれているというか、やさぐれた感じが漂っています。ブラックな面白さと同時にちょっとした不快感も混じり、それが著者の味にもなっていると思います。全編不健全さが漂いますが、一人の人間の生きざまは出ていると思います。

広告の中で遊んでいるようで、結構マジだったの、と巻頭にある日広エージェンシー時代の企画書（原版？）が貴重です。

哲学を語らせたり、ユーリズミックスを聞かせたり、てっちゃんはまぎれもなく中島らもの作ったキャラクターになってますね。

またてっちゃん親子にからむヘタウマ漫画キャラクタも楽しい
