最新技術を駆使し建築界にもあらゆる進歩が起こっているが、基本はあくまでも大工さんの仕事、その場の風と色とをその場で調整しながらの仕事だ。それがその場に行きにくい、言葉が違うと、遠く外国にもなればあらゆる障害が発生する。そんな多くのトラブルにもめげず戦う安藤の最新の仕事と奮闘ぶりが見れる一冊。関係者にしか手に取られないマニアックな本だが、狭い世界でのベストセラーは確実だ。自費では買えない値段だが(笑)

さすが、日本を代表する建築家らしく、グランドデザインがしっかりしていることがよくわかる。この本に登場する最初の作品は、『グランド・ゼロ・プロジェクト』。どれもその地に流れる空気、注がれる光との調和がすばらしい。
日本語と英文の両方の記載があり英語の勉強にもなる。
