今まで具体的には明らかにされなかった「曲がることのない
ある持続的な行為」というのが、このマジカルパスに相当する。

が、とかくカンフーの動きだの太極拳から採用した動きだと揶揄され
あまり評価されていない。　しかしながら少林拳の動作、太極拳の
動作のどれからも類似するものは見当たらない・・・。　さらに言えば
背後の理論的なものからして違う、しいて言えば易筋経的な趣はあるが、
一連の著作に対応する動きを含んでいる。

もっとも注目すべき点は、マジカルパスは創作されたものではなく
夢見における高められた意識状態のときに「発見された」ということ
に注目すべきで、いかにこの一連の動作が夢見をしながらたやすくできる
「動作ではない」ということを経験すべきである。

夢見の中で、日常的にできる簡単なこれらの動作を簡単に繰り返す
ことができたとき、マジカルパスが自分にとって意味あるものなのか
ないものなのか？が明らかになるはずである。

サイコパスと呼ばれるヨガのようなものの薦め。シリーズの中では異色作。
ドンファンとの対話も殆ど無くただ動き（運動）の説明があるだけである。
実際に実践してみたい人にはお勧めだが、単純にこのシリーズを読み物と
捉えている人にはお勧めできない。
ただ、中国の気孔の動きと非常に良く似ているので、そういった類のものが
好きな人は参考になるだろう。

古の神人あるいは知者とされた賢者らによって宇宙とは物質であると同時に、純粋なるエネルギーの流れであり、両者の違いはその知覚したエネルギーを解釈・翻訳（注意力）する仕方の違いであり、普段我々が物質として認識することに関わっているのが第一の注意力（トナール・肉体）で、エネルギーを直接知覚し、自身のエネルギーをもって対応行動するのが第二の注意力（ナワール・エネルギー体）という定義のもと、本書は両者を繋ぐ架け橋として、古代にエネルギーを直接感得していた人類によって体験されたマジカルパス（第二の注意力優勢時に自動的に湧出する特定の動き）というエネルギーを再処理するための動き（後に技法として体系化された体術）を、カスタネダが現代人に向けて再編したものであり、体の動きによって使われなくなった、硬化したエネルギーに揺さぶりを加えることで流動性を与え、人体各部に存在するエネルギーの中心（チャクラ／丹田と同様の身体中枢）へ再回収、再利用するための技法である。
のちのシャーマン（言葉・意味に語弊はあるが、適当な言葉が存在しないのでカスタネダも仕方なく使用している）達によって現代人の体躯に適し、より故障の少ない動きを実現するために東洋の武術から幾つかの姿勢を取り入れた経緯は本文中にも記されておりますが、実践とともに改良を加えていくのは、ごく自然なことであり要点であるエネルギーの移動を促す動きから外れていなければ何百年も型にこだわって体操から一歩も踏み出せずにいるよりは懸命なのではないでしょうか。ただ、本書のみにて実践するのはかなり難しいものがあると思われるので、TERRA ENTERTAINMENTより３巻リリースされているビデオ"CARLOS CASTANEDA'S TENSEGRITY"を別途入手されることが望ましい。ただ、日本語版が無いのが惜しまれる。
