上巻だけなのが残念。まぁ１冊で収めるには仕方無いですよね。
しかし、上巻のみとはいえ結構細かく描かれていますね。脚注も多くて嬉しい。
既に古事記を読んだことのある人なら「お、これは」と思う箇所もあります。
字でなく絵なので、他の古事記の本で分かり辛かった描写が、本書で理解出来て嬉しかったですね。
本書には系図が載ってないのがイタイところかな。系図があれば「○○って誰の子だっけ？」といった時に見やすいですが、本書には無いので、ペラペラと該当ページを探す必要が……。

石ノ森章太郎さんの描く古事記コミックス版です。
語り部の太安万侶氏がいい味を出していまして
古事記本編への突っ込みがなかなか笑わせてくれます。
時々石ノ森先生も出てきます。
要点をかいつまんだダイジェスト編ですが、
この漫画の特色としては
女の子にかかわったお陰で男の神様が歴史を動かす
というパターンが多かったこと。
実際古事記の女神様もこんな感じですが
この漫画ではそれをちょっと強調しています。
したたかで我の強い女の子、純然な乙女の涙で奮い立つ男の子。
個性的な登場人物ばかりですが石ノ森さんの独特な作風で嫌味に感じません。
最上神として天上天下唯独尊のアマテラスも微妙な匙加減で美しく可憐です。
肩の力を抜いて読める漫画ですので古事記入門編としてはベスト。
興味のある方は是非一読してください。

やはりストーリーに端折った感はあるがやむを得ないかなといったところ。性的描写はさらっと描いており、子どもに見せるのにそこまで心配はない（個人的には、ですが）と思います。登場人物の名前をカタカナのみで書くと、どうしても無意識のうちに読み飛ばしてしまいます…。漢字にルビを振る形の方がよいかなと。
