「フルメタル・パニック！といえば」などと言うだけで彼女の魅力を書き表せないことなど百も承知と知りながら、それでも、新曲が新シリーズを飾る事のうれしさを表現するにあたり、この言葉を使わないわけにはいかなかった事をご理解いただきたい。第１期では作詞・作曲にチャレンジし、短編シリーズでは「それが愛でしょう」の作詞に想いを寄せてくれた彼女。「フルメタ」という作品が常にチャレンジの連続を繰り返しながら、時に笑いを、時に感動を与えてくれる作品であることは多くの人が知るように、その作品のTVアニメシリーズを飾る主題歌を歌う彼女もまた、常にトライとチャレンジを繰り返してきたアーティストである。共に”チャレンジ”と”トライ”を主とする２つの出会いの場所が「フルメタル・パニック！」という作品だった。長編第２期のオープニング「南風」は、そんな出会いと歩みの軌跡を描き出したような楽曲。埃にまみれても駆け出していく。空と大地が重なる気の遠くなるほど掛け離れた場所でも、例え未知数のモノであっても、諦める事は出来ない。常に前へと進むことで生み出される可能性（チャレンジ）を知り、踏み出すことの勇気（トライ）を支える、力強い風だ。

この曲はぜひとも車で聞きましょう。　死ぬほど暑い日でもエアコンは止めちゃえ。窓を全開にしてサンルーフも開け放ち、カブリオレならルーフも外しちゃえ！　バイクに乗りながらでも自転車で走りながらでもOK!　自然の風を体中で感じながら、太陽の光を感じながら、そんな曲です。

聴くと走り出したくなることうけあいの名曲です。
もやもやとした気持ちを振り払いたい人は、ぜひ聴いてください。

ヘンに英語を盛り込んでいない（日本語になってるようなものは除きますが）歌詞も
温かさ、柔らかさが感じられて良いです。
