う、懐かしい! などと言おうものなら、年齢がばれてしまうが、何とも時代を隔絶しているが故に無類に楽しい(いや、もはやアホらしいというべきか)アルバムの再発だ。今も“笑点”でご活躍の円楽師匠の珍妙なるプレイボーイ養成講座12章と前田憲男師匠?の洒落た音楽(あえてジャズとはいわない)がミルフィーユのように重なり進行する1960年代ならではの冗談アルバムだ。ところで、この時代の笑いの軽妙さには、あのクレイジー・キャッツを筆頭に、ジャズがあるとあらためて思う。むろん、それはコルトレーン的なものではなく、西海岸的軽さ、あるいは都会生活者的な洒脱さで、その軽薄な気取りも含めて相対化して遊んでしまう精神だ。当時のポップスを軽快に渡り歩き、アンサンブルを作ってしまう職人的才人、前田憲男のお手軽さの中にも、その精神を見ることができる。むろん、円楽師匠の言葉にそのまま従う人はいまいが、ふと、ひざを打ちたくなることも多いんだな、これが! 今をトキメクＣＫＢの横山剣氏が幼い頃に聴いていたという事でメデタクＣＤ化された隠れた名盤である。
12章にわたるプレイボーイについての円楽師匠による粋なトークの後に、各一曲づつ素晴らしい演奏が続く。
まだフュージョンなんて言葉が生まれていない頃の音源だが、完全なジャズではない非常に聴き易いサウンドである。
今聴いても遜色なく、プレイボーイになりたくなってしまう。
円楽師匠が言っている事も本質的には今も変わっていない様に、ここに収められた音もまた不変のものなのだろう。

松岡きっこのジャケット買いでも後悔はしない。
