この本を読んでいて一番感じたことは、とにかく分かりやすいという点。
説明の組み立て方がうまく、はじめから最後まで、無駄なく説明がつながって行きます。
後ろの章に進めば進むほど、「ああ、このことを説明するために、前の章であれを説明したのか、納得。」という感じで、話の展開の巧みさに関心してしまいました。
Objective-Cの入門部分を確実に理解させてくれるのと同時に、オブジェクト指向プログラミングについても、とてもシンプルで的確に解説してくれています。
翻訳も上手で、何の違和感もなく、ほぼ１００％理解できた感じです。
Objective-Cがこれですべて分かるという訳ではないと思うのですが、タイトル通り、入門書としてはかなりおすすめです。

プログラミング入門者には、ハードルが高いが
プログラミング経験者のObjective-C入門者には良書だと思います。

言語の本なので、具体的なMacOXやiPhoneのアプリ開発については
ほとんど話がでてきません。

チャートや図があまり使われていないのですが、
文章の書き方は、けっこうわかりやすいです。

Objective-Cにしかない記述やメソッドが詳しく紹介されている本は
数少ないので言語を学びたい人にはオススメです。

　今回の「入門 Objective-C 2.0」はMacで初めて本格的なプログラミングを始める人向けである。この本はワークショップ形式に実際にプログラムを打ち込みながら読み進めていけるので初学者に向いている。特に NSLog を使ってコンソールに結果を表示させる方法は非常に有用である。このテクニックは今後の GUI 開発でも使えるからだ。

　また、KVC などの独特のシステムのとっかかりとしても有用であるので、ある程度 Cocoa(touch)-Objective-C で開発したことがある経験者でも頭を整理するのにも有用である。

　ただ、GUI での開発に関しての解説は少ないので実際にプログラムを書く場合は、iPhone ? Mac ? などの対象に応じてそれぞれの GUI によるソフト開発本を併せて読むことをお勧めする。それが終わった後は、先に述べた「萩原本」を繙くと良いだろう。

　良書である。
