街道2のシステム上に、
実在コースと首都高をドッキング。そんな感じです。
ただ首都高はレーシング用コースとして大幅にモディファイされたので
単なる市街地コースの一種のような感じです。
特に行き先看板が外されたので（↑新宿　とか）
首都高感がなくなりましたね。ただの囲まれたコースという感じ。

今回は、チューニング画面がすごく親切になりました。
そこが最大の目玉のように思います。
どこをいじると、どう変化するかが一目瞭然であると同時に、
走らせながらのセッティングも自在。便利です。
画面は高解像度のモードにしたのかな？こまやかになっています。
ただし、ちょっと色の選び方がアニメチックで、
あまりリアルさを感じません。
それから走行中の車の表面のテクスチャが妙に荒いです。
せっかくステッカー貼ってあってもボケボケになってます。なんだこりゃ。
　
首都高01のときや、街道2のときも思ったことだけど、
壁ヒット、車同士のヒットでダメージを受けるシステムなのに
CPUがバカで結構突っ込んできます。また自爆もします。
そこがねえ…。あいかわらず、ずーっと改善されてない。
この系統のシリーズは結構な数、でている割に、そこがいつまでも
改善されないのが大きな不満点ですね。
　
ただまあ、ゲーム内の目標設定がしっかりしていて、
そこに向かってがんばるという仕組みは、GT4よりゲームとして分かりやすい
部分であり、評価できる部分です。クリア時の達成感も大きいですね。
GT4はとにかく広大な遊び場を提供するばかりで、
目標を見失いがちですからね。

「ゲーム的レースゲーム」を求める人にお勧め。
シミュレーター好きな人はスルーでOKです。

首都高バトル、サーキット版。かなりやりこみ度が高くなってます。
カスタムの自由度が非常に高く、ペイントシステムも使いやすくなったので、自分だけの車が作れて自車に愛着が持てます。
日本車種は豊富で、カスタム代は莫大にかかるけど、お金は貯まりやすいので資金には困らないため、序盤でスタートカーから別の車に乗り換えることもできるけど、最初から使い捨てのように次々と車を乗り換えるのだけではなく、スタートカーをゲーム中じっくりカスタムして育てていくこともできる。
なおかつ、自車が育ちきった中盤すぎは、ワンダラー出現条件の車を買ったりと、いろいろできる。
パーツの他に、カー用品なども豊富で、とにかく車好きにはバトルだけでない楽しみも味わえました。

クルマ好きなのでこのソフトを買いました。
グラフィックよし、オープニングムービーよし、
しかし何なんだこのサウンドは…。
クルマを運転している音ではありません。掃除機のような変な音…。
ちょっとがっかりです。
