読み始めてすぐに、表紙（タイトル）から受ける悲観的なイメージは消えました。1ページ1ページ、世間話を楽しむように、時事について考えをめぐらせます。考えるといっても、ぜんぜん頭をぶん回すしんどさは無くて、心地よい感じで、ふわーっと楽な気分になった。最近、味の濃いビジネス本に食あたり気味だったのだけど、久々に読書を楽しめました。

現在の日本の問題（雇用格差、政治、フリーター等）をとりあげているが、全編に渡り著者のバランス感覚の良さを感じる本である。こうしたらよいのではないか、と色々と提案しているが、それらが押し付けがましくない。R25に掲載しているエッセイであるためか、非常に文体がやわらかく読み易い。ちょっとした空き時間に読むのに最適な本である。

　フリーマガジンのR25で連載していたエッセイをまとめたエッセイ集です。
　「がんばれ平店長」などと言った最近の話題も多く石田さんの独特の感性が
伝わってきます。
　暗く生きるより少しでも明るく生きれるように元気がもらえるような気がします。
　エッセイを読んで元気をだして、ゼロが二つくらい多く付いている食事を高級
レストランで食べなくてもいいようにしたいものです。
　電車の中で読むのにお勧めです。
