この作品はＧ戦場ヘブンズドア、吼えろペン、編集王などと並ぶ、マンガのためのマンガです。

主人公シズオは自分探しのために４０歳にして会社を辞め、ある日からマンガを描き始めます。
しかしいざ描こうと思うと自分には何も伝えたいことが無い、描きたいことが無いことに気がつきます。
暖かくシズオを見守る娘と、いい歳こいて何やってんだとあきれる父親に囲まれながら、なぜマンガなのかを探していくのです。

マンガが好きだから漫画家になりたいという人も増えていると思いますが、作品を作るにあたってストーリーを練る、コマを割る、絵を描く、という技術の前に土台になるもっと大きな問題があるということが垣間見えます。
作家を目指す方々に限らずマンガが好きな方々にも幅広く読んでもらいたい作品です。

漫画家を目指す中年の物語です。

バクマンを読んだ後にひょんな事から読みました。
あまりの対極さに笑いました。
年齢が違うと、似た内容でも、
こうも滑稽になるものかと。

そして自分はすでに、こっち側の人間である事に気づかされました。

歳をとって夢を見ることの、
世知辛さ、哀愁、が良く表現されています。

娘がいい味だしてます。
ちゃんと頑張ったほうがいいと思いますよ。

なんとなく15年勤めた仕事を辞め「自分探しをする」と言い放ち、結果ゲームしたり近所をフラフラしていた”40過ぎのオッサン”が何を思ったのか（何も考えていないが）漫画家を目指すというお話です。

しかし目指すといっても昔から漫画家を夢見ていたわけではなく、やることなくて何となく決めた目標です。
本人はコレだ！と思っているのでしょうが、娘や父親の目が気になるからとりあえずそれっぽい夢を語っておけ的な逃げです。
こういうのは10代20代で経験すると思うのですが、何となく生きてきてしまった為にそれを経験できなかったんだろうなぁなんて。

全体的にギャグだが、私のようにデフォルトで逃げ態勢の人に対しては油断してると心の隙間に入ってこようとする瞬間がありますので気をつけてくださいｗ

とりあえずオッサンしょーもなさすぎて笑えます。
