   押井守監督の実写作品『紅い眼鏡』『ケルベロス』にも登場する公安直属特機部隊ケルベロス。その成立過程を背景に、特機所属の青年と彼らと敵対する立場にある都市ゲリラの女性との交流が描かれる、ケルベロスサーガ前史といえる長編アニメーション。
   舞台は第2次世界大戦終結十数年後、高度経済成長期にあり、民衆運動と機動隊の衝突が繰り返される昭和の日本。日本現代史の中にケルベロスという架空の組織を滑り込ませることで、フィクショナルでありながらも当時の空気を再現するリアリティを獲得することに成功している。民衆や学生の闘争の時代をくぐり抜けてきた押井守ならではの設定、物語が堪能できる傑作だ。
   なお、本作では監督を沖浦啓之に任せ、押井自身は原作と脚本に徹している。（田中 元）

　「けもの」として生きて行く宿命を選んだ男と、かなわぬと知りつつも夢を抱いた女の悲しい物語。私は押井守氏のケルベロスシリーズには予備知識がありませんでしたが、十分に堪能できました。

　穏やかに展開する男女の交流と、地下水路に響きわたるＭＧ機関銃の轟音が醸し出す、強烈なコントラスト。そして、要所要所に挿入される「赤ずきん」の物語の巧妙さ。アニメだからこそ実現できた、架空の戦後世界のディテールが、この物語に十分なリアリティを与えていることもポイントです。

　これは、いわゆるアクション映画ではありません。また、「かっこいい」アニメとして楽しむつもりで期待されると失望する方もいるでしょう。「人狼」は、表現手法としてアニメと言う形を選択した、一流の映像作品です。何の先入観も持たず、「ケルベロス」シリーズを知らない方にこそ見て欲しいと思います。

もっと解かりやすく、台詞も自然に、
もっと観る者の心を煽るようなストーリー展開も、
出来たはずなのですが、敢えてそこをはずして、
出来すぎな映画にしなかったのを、
強く評価したいと思います。
ハリウッド的快楽原則に背を向けた、
なんて言うと大げさかもしれませんが、
観た人の殆どが感じるであろう、
数々の引っかかりも、確信犯かと思うと、
いっそカッコイイくらいです。

言うまでもありませんが、
映像がとにかく素晴らしい。
キャラクターの表情の自然さには、
目を見張るものがあります。
まさに登場人物が「芝居」をしているのです。
カゲ色を極力廃し、シンプルな描線と色彩のみで、
ここまで人物を表現しきれたのは、
卓抜した技術力のゆえでしょう。
派手さはありませんが、いかにも注意深く作られた映像からは、
むせ返るほどの官能性が漂っています。

どなたにでもお勧めできるとは言えませんが、
アニメファンのみならず、映画が好きならば、
一度は観ておくべき作品だと思います。

童話『赤ずきんちゃん』を絡めた、
戦後、もう一つの日本の話。

観る前は、ドンパチものだと思ってたけど、
全然違ってた。
昭和30年代を思わせるような空気と
闘争で引き裂かれた男女の恋愛ドラマ。

最初観終わった時は、
「…なんて重たい話だ」と思ったが、
もう一度観てみるとだいぶ代わった。
路線バスでの二人の会話など秀逸だ。
どのシーンをとっても無駄がなく、それ故、最後のシーンが際立っている。

最後の最後で感情を除かせた彼は、狼になってしまったのか、それとも人になったのか。それだけが気になる。

一番、印象に残ったセリフは、
『そしてオオカミは、赤頭巾を喰った』
現実はこうなのだという、一つの回答だろう。
