ハメられた警官の濡れ衣ネタは沢山ありますが、
この映画の一味違うところは、
交渉人どうしの駆け引きや、真犯人が潜む中での、警察の動きなど、
真実と嘘の境目を行き来する展開がスリリングで
銃撃戦よりも、主演２人のやりとりがとても危険です。

結構古い映画なので、ちょくちょくＤＶＤで観てましたが、
今見ても問題ない出来なので、ブルーレイはどうかな？と思いましたが
海外版の同作の画質評価も
概ね好評なので、買い替えようかなと思ってます。
（これからもちょくちょく観ると思いますので）

ほとんど夜のシーンですが、市街地や、ヘリの視点、
役者の表情を捕えるライティングがなかなか良く、ブルーレイのメリットを期待しています。
購入後にレビューを追加させていただきます。

実物の出来は、ＤＶＤだと、ライティングでハイライトが
強調された感じがしますが、ブルーレイ版は
階調がなめらかでかなり繊細な画質になってます。
音も、低音が自然に出ており、派手ではないですが、厚みがあります。

新規に購入される方には、”佳作”に見合う価格なので
お勧めですが、買い替えは”損しない”という表現とします。

１９９８年の作品ですからもう１０年も前の作品ですね。
恐らく「ダイ・ハード」（第一作目）をご存じない方は少ないと思いますが本作はどうでしょ？
もし未見でしたら、迷うことなくご覧になることをお勧めします。

シカゴ市警のトップ・ネゴシエーター、ローマン（サミュエル・L・ジャクソン）は図らずも市警組織の暗部に触れてしまった結果、
同僚を殺され、その容疑者に仕立て上げられてしまいます。
身柄を拘束されれば口封じに消されることも予想される状態で彼がとった行動は人質を取ってビルに立てこもること。
かつての同僚たちを向こうに回して孤独な持久戦が始まります。
手の内を知り尽くしている相手になす術がない市警側に対してローマンは交渉相手に市警のもう一人の敏腕交渉人、
クリス・セイビアン（Ｋ・スペイシー）を指名してきます。
ローマン抹殺のチャンスをうかがう汚職警官グループの動きの中、互いに交渉術を知り尽くしたプロ同士の息詰まる心理戦が始まるのですが…。

共に抜群の存在感を示す現代アメリカ映画界の実力派二人がガチで火花を散らしており非常に見応えがあります。
ただし派手な展開こそあれども本作は「アクション映画」ではありません。
あくまでベテランの演技陣による緊迫感溢れる「サスペンス」映画になっております。
主役の二人は言わずもがなですが、脇を固める、ロン・リフキン、ジョン・スペンサー、デビット・モース、
Ｊ・Ｔ・ウォルシュ、そして今やオスカー候補の常連ポール・ジオマッティなど正に「粒ぞろい」の布陣です。
２時間２０分と少々長めの作品ですが見どころ満載で気になりません。

ところで本作は本来Ｋ・スペイシーとシルベスター・スタローンで制作が予定されていたもの。その時点ではスペイシー氏が罠にはめられる交渉人役だったそうです。
結果的にスタローン氏が降板、スペイシー氏は代わりのお相手が決まる前に気に入ったクリス・セイビアン役へのシフトを申し出た経緯があります。
確かにこの役を演じていて楽しそうですもんね。
スタローン＆スペイシー版ならかなり毛色の違った作品になっていたのではないでしょうか？
