岩井 克人
1947年東京生まれ。1969年東京大学経済学部卒業。マサチューセッツ工科大学で経済学博士号取得ののち、カリフォルニア大学バークレイ校、イエール大学経済学部、同大学コウルズ経済研究所勤務をへて、1989年より東京大学経済学部教授。著書に『不均衡動学』(1982年度日経・経済図書文化賞特賞)、『貨幣論』(1993年度第15回サントリー学芸賞受賞)などがある(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

経済理論はあちこちかじったりしてたが、ここまで丁寧にわかりやすく説明してもらって、目から鱗が本当に落ちた気がした。

リーマンショックでバブルがはじけて、資本主義を根本から見直さなくてはならないような空気があるが、著者のあまりにもわかりやすい順序だった説明により、市場経済において、金融危機は、危機でも何でもなく、起こるべくして起こっている、ということがわかった。

そして今の本当の危機は、国際基軸通貨への信頼、つまりドル暴落の危機、ということなんだ。

本書は、１９９７年のアジア通貨危機を振り返る形で論述されているが、今読んでも全く違和感がない。むしろ、これからも金融危機が繰り返し起きるだろうこと、ドル危機がやがて起るであろうことを、的確に見通していることに脱帽である。

筆者は、将来のドル暴落によるハイパーインフレ（ｏｒハイパーインフレによるドル暴落？）を資本主義市場経済の最大の危機と称している。そのために、グローバル中央銀行のような機関の設立が不可欠で、今はなにも準備のない無防備な状態であるとも付け加えている。しかし、人類の真の知恵とは予測される危機に対して何らかの備えをとることにこそあるのであれば、その危機を最新のシミュレーション等で分析＆予測して、国際的な機関でその対策に向けて設立に向けた研究や準備を開始することこそ、学者の重要な仕事ではないだろうか？（もちろん、学者だけではなく政治家や民間人も関係するが）これは単に基軸通貨国である米国ＦＲＢ（連邦準備制度）に解決を委ねておくべき課題ではなく、日本を初めとする非基軸通貨国が積極的働きかけて活動をおこなうべきものと思う。（すでにそれらの動きがシッカリとあるのであれば結構です）
末尾に「身分から契約と信任へ」とのコメントがあるが、まさしくそれこそが一般人がマクロ経済学者に信任したい事柄である。
