長年、戦争ジャーナリストとして活躍されてきた橋田さんが地元紙に連載していたコラムを奥様が編集したものです。
戦争を知り尽くした猛者とは思えない軽妙な語り口で、小難しい話は書いてありませんが、戦争の本質をしっかり見据えておられるところはさすがです。橋田さんのようなジャーナリストが亡くなられたことはほんとうに残念です。日本は平和国家だといまだに思いこんでいる日本人にこそ読んで欲しい本です。

今まで疑問に思っていたこと、もやもやしていたことがはっきり見えた気がします。家族はもとより、日本中の人に読んでもらいたい一冊です。
