Good Points: The 1.8" drive from my iPod Video 5th generation fit very nicely in this case. The circuit board is firmly attached to the frame. The ZIF connection was easy to make. The USB connection is good. The drive worked immediately. The cloth carrying case fits nicely and has a handy neck strap. You can use the drive without removing it from the cloth carrying case.
Bad Points: The metal covers are OK, but the plastic frame might break if dropped? The screws for the cover are too small and could easily come loose. There are no instructions in the box. Check online for instructions about installing ZIF HDs.
This is a much better product than the TIMELY 1.8"HDDケース シルバー PORTER180Z SILVER, which did not work correctly (poor USB connection, disk wouldn't mount) and which I had to return.
Note: It may take some force to push the ZIF connector tape into the HD ZIF socket.
