父と同じ銃士になるべく花の都・パリにやって来た青年ダルタニアンと
三銃士(アトス、アラミス、ポルトス)の四人が、まだ若い国王を操り、フランスを我が物にせんとする枢機卿と、彼の腹心であるロシュホール隊長の陰謀に立ち向かう…。聞いているだけでワクワクして来る話の筋書きです。デュマの名作で、今回が5回目の映画化とか。三銃士其々の年齢を原作とほぼ同じにしてあるそうなので、安心して楽しめます。
また、ダルタニアン、アトス、アラミスが其々に影のある過去を持っている点にも注目でしょう。そして、全体的に皆格好良いんです！特に王宮前の広場で近衛銃士隊と枢機卿の護衛隊が戦うシーンは正に圧巻。
笑いあり、涙ありで、きっと一見の価値がある作品です。

主人公ダルタニアンは銃士になるためにパリにやって来たが、
銃士隊は伯爵の陰謀によりすでに解散させられていた。
彼はひょんなことから知り合った元銃士３人と共に、
伯爵を倒すために戦う、という物語です。

歴史物ですが、重厚壮大な感じではありません。
戦闘も、リアルな殺し合いではなくチャンバラ風で、切られても血は出ません。
音楽も軽快で、気軽に楽しめる娯楽映画になっています。
ちょっぴりお色気シーンもありますが、家族で見ても問題ないでしょう。

ただ、フランスが舞台の映画なのに、全員英語をしゃべっているのは違和感あります。
アメリカの映画だから当然と言えば当然ですが、
世界配給作品なら、当然フランス語版も作ったでしょうに。
フランス語吹き替え版に日本語字幕で見たかったですね。

英語で見るより、日本語吹き替えのほうが雰囲気があって良いでしょう。
声優陣も、宮本充・堀内賢雄・玄田哲章・山寺宏一とベテランぞろいなので、
安心して見ていられますし、本物より合っているかも？

髪の毛ふさふさのキーファーサザーランドや、チャーリーシーン、クリスオドネル
ら俳優陣も見所です。

サーベルと華麗な衣装による西洋チャンバラの楽しさで溢れている。時代劇だが、重厚さよりも若手俳優の魅力を活かした軽妙さを強調した作品になっている。こういう華やかな映画は少なくなってきているだけに、今観返すのも良いかもしれない。
