バッドフィンガーに興味を持って聴き始めたいと思うのなら、この程度の選曲のベストアルバムを聴かずオリジナルアルバムを聴こう！一部入手困難なタイトルもあるけれどバッドフィンガーのアルバムは名作揃い、どれをとってもベストチョイス間違いなし。

選択するなら「嵐の恋→素敵な君→ストレイト・アップ→涙の旅路→アス→マジック・クリスチャン→ガラスの恋人→セイ・ノー・モア→メイビー・トゥモロー」全アルバムを購入する

それが“ヴェリー・ベスト”…無理か

ウイズアウト・ユーを聴くたび思う、ハムもエヴァンスも生きていれば、この曲の印税だけで、生活のことを気にせず、自由に音楽活動ができ、さらに名作を残しただろうに…。

たしかに、恋の嵐、デイ・アフター・デイ、というヒット曲はある。しかしそれだけではないということが、このベストを聴けばよくわかってもらえると思う。レーベルを越えて、よくぞいい曲ばかり選曲してくれたものです。

アルバムの中の曲や、当時未発表だった曲も収録されていて、またそれがシングル・ヒットしそうなレベルに思え、マネジメントさえしっかりしていたら、このバンドはもっと成功したのにと悔やんでしまいます。
レビューというよりも、ぐちになりましたね。でも、聴いて欲しいなぁ。このベストは、ちょうどいい!入門編になります。
ラスト１９曲目は、名曲です。

'00年リリースのアップル期ベスト第2弾。
'95年のベスト「ベスト・オブ・バッドフィンガー」との違いは、
・オリジナルアルバムCD化での発掘音源からも選曲
・ワーナー移籍後のアルバムからも収録
・24bitリマスターで音質向上
といったところ。ほとんどの曲はどちらにも収録しています。

オリジナルアルバムを廃盤にしておいて、この程度のベストを出す意味が良くわかりませんが、
こちらの方が個人的には好みの選曲。
最大の問題点は、ワーナー音源の曲がアナログ盤から起こされた物で、19等はアナログでも最後だった為、
内周歪みでひどい音になっています。

オリジナルアルバムのリマスター再発を待つのが一番の様です。
