「青春」その言葉に何の興味も持たなかった私
でもこの小説だけは違っていた。
著者の濃密な中３の１年間を読んでいるうちに、ぐいぐいと引き込まれ、あっという間に５００ページ一気読み。
ケンカに明け暮れた日々の中での友達や家族との日々が面白く、時には熱く、時には悲しく、私の目の前に浮かんでは消えた。
特にすごかったのは「ラップでGO！」の章に出てくる「悪口バトル」
笑う、笑う、笑う
これはゲッツ板谷にしか出来ない技だと思う。
ここだけでもゼヒ読んで！
このラップは後からも出てくるけど、最後のラップは特にお見事。
音のない文字だけの小説のはずなのに、リズムのある文章で、実際にラップが聞こえてくる気がする。
この小説は続編も出るそうなので、期待大

母親の弟が少し年上だが大体ゲッツ氏と同年代であり、本に出ているショー中出身者である。立川狩りの話、校内でケンカ番付があった話、立川の連中数十名に追われ、命からがら逃げ切った話など立川の昔のことは昭島サイドの人間として幼い頃から聞かされてきた。子供の頃友達の家に遊びに行くと当たり前な感じでそこの親から同じような武勇伝やどんな根性のあることをやってきたかを聞かされた。他の友達の家に行っても同じような調子で、である。なのでこの本を読み進めていくウチになんだか懐かしさを感じた。僕が幼心になんとなく記憶している、当時の立川や昭島の風景、臭い、人、空気そのものが書いてある。モノレールなんか走っちゃいない、明るい店なんか見当たらない、女子供は歩いちゃいけないような雰囲気の立川南口。北口の疲れ切ったおっさんのような表情で並んでいたデパート群。知らない人間が目隠しされて連れてこられたらとても東京都とは思えない住宅地、そこに住む人々の何かを諦めたような顔。陸の孤島とも言えるそんな土地。そこでの話。リアルな内容。

今までみてきた不良とかバイオレンスを扱った小説のなかで一番、経験者が書いたっていうことが伝わってきました
本当に鼻折ったことある人間じゃないとあの音は知らないはず
でも、文学かというと.....
小説版ヤングキングという印象があります
途中のケンカや青臭さ、ヤリマン女とかの描写はすごくいいんだけど話しの大筋がみえない
でも、青春時代を少しでも環境の悪い学校で過ごしたことがある人なら共感せざるおえない作品です
