4.0 out of 5 stars クール＆シャープ、疾走するロックンロールが堪らない！, , 2009/1/3
　真っ赤なジャケットが印象的な6作目。ついに紙ジャケで登場だ！マッドマックスばりのPVも作られた（2）は、珍しくシンセを強調した80年代風の音づくりがされているが、それ以外はいつも通りの彼ららしいロックが満載のアルバム。

　前作までと比べても、今作は各曲が“キャッチャー”な印象。“売れ線”を意識したという節はないんだけど、ラスト（10）以外は全て3分台の、ストーンズライクな、ギター・オリエンテッドなアレンジで、ラジオ局を意識したような、わかりやすい、ある種“ベタな”曲をズラリと並べた、って感じだね（決して悪い意味ではないんだが…）。レコードＡ面にあたる5曲は（1）からエンジン全開って感じのロックがズラリだし、（7）は彼らの全キャリアの中でも5指に入る屈指の名曲。この曲だけでも買いだと思う。

　ただ、初期ハートブレイカーズって、多くのアメロクバンドが持つ“暑苦しさ”みたいなものが希薄で、徹底的に“cool & sharp”に突っ走る感じが魅力なんだけど、今作はそこが少しばかり全面に出すぎちゃって、やや“軽い”印象を受けるのも事実なんだよね。僕はそこに凄く惹かれるんだけど、結構賛否両論あるみたいで、結果このアルバム、やや影が薄い。トム自身もあまり気にいっていないのか、ここからの曲はライブでもあまりやらないんだよねぇ。いいアルバムだと思うんだけどなぁ…。
