Robin Soresi was born in 1938 in Winchester, Virginia, which is located in the Shenandoah Valley. She is the oldest of six children. She has three children and four grandchildren. She first worked for IMB as an "office lady" or OL. She later worked in various industries such as politics, real estate and health care. (ロビンは1938年バージニア州Shenandoah Valleyにあるウィンチェスターに6人兄弟の長女として生まれました。今は3人の子どもと4人の孫に恵まれています。ロビンは最初IMBのOLとして勤めましたが、のちに政治団体や不動産関係、保健関係の職場で働きました。)
Robin lived in Japan from 1998 to 2002 when she and her son, Stephen, ran "Riverside English Conversation School" in Suginami, Tokyo on the historic Kanda River. The books are based on her real experiences with Japanese learners of all ages. Robin began to write books in 1999 at the suggestion of one of her students. Her first book was "The 100 Phrases that all native English speaking children know" - co-authored with her son, Stephen. (ロビンは1998年から2002年まで日本で暮らし、息子のスティーブと共に東京杉並区の神田川沿いにリバーサイド英会話教室を開きました。ロビンの著作は、その教室であらゆる世代の日本人に英会話を教えた経験に基づいています。ロビンは教え子たちに勧められて1999年に著作活動を始めました。最初の作品は、息子スティーブとの共著『ネイティブなら子どものときに身につける英会話なるほどフレーズ100』です。)
Robin lives mainly in Florida with family dog, Sasha. She spends about four months a year in Japan where she writes and collaborates on educational projects and enjoys spending time with her friends and family in Japan, especially her grandson. (ロビンは現在フロリダで愛犬サーシャとともに暮らしています。年に約4カ月は日本に来て、執筆や教材開発への助言をしています。日本にいる友人や息子家族、とりわけ孫息子と過ごすことを楽しんでいます。)
