本秀康氏は我が国きってのジョージハリスンフリークであり、ジョージへの愛があふれる作品
が満載の本書は、ジョージファン必読の書であることは間違いなし。
旧作と外観は全く同じデザインでありながら、価格が５００円アップした分、収録作品は大増
量で厚みもぐんと増し、さらにビニールケース入り、ポストカード封入、シュリンク包装とい
う超お買い得版。旧作はブックオフにでも売ることにして買い換えようと考えて中を見たら問
題発生！なんと、旧作にはあったのに本作では削除された作品があるのです。旧作のボーナス
トラックにあった、椎名林檎やブリグリに関するエピソードなのです。つまりレコスケに直接
関係のないエピソードです。それが不要なら旧作を売って買い換えもよしですが、ブリグリの
エピソードが好きな私の書棚には結局そっくりな本が２冊並ぶこととなりました。
本作は決定版であって、最終版ではないとのことなので、いつか３冊ならぶ日も来るのか。

レコード・コレクターズにて掲載されていた音楽漫画。
作者の本秀康氏は、「爆笑問題のバク天」のキャラクターやスピッツ「メモリーズ」、奥田民生「CUSTOM」、東京事変「Dynamite In/Dynamite Out」、VILLAGE VANGUARD限定コンピ「SLOW？」のジャケを手掛けているので絵を見た事ある人も居るでしょう。

内容は、音楽に精通し(二次性徴的な意味では無い)、あらゆるジャンルを網羅しているのに最愛がジョージ・ハリスンとベイ・シティ・ローラーズ(デレク)という少年のレコ屋巡りストーリー。
「ビートルズってのはジョージの音楽的才能を開花させる、それだけのために存在したグループだったと俺は思うんだよ」とは彼の名(迷？)言。
レコ好きならば、思わず「あるある」と頷くネタが満載ですよ。レコード裁判とかね。

そんな「レコスケくん」は、ただいま絶版になってるらしい。
但し！　装いも新たに「レコスケくんcomplete edition」として生まれ変わったのですよ！　聞いてますか！？　奥さん！
前作収録話は勿論、弊社刊行物のみならず、ここ数年の他雑誌/書籍掲載のモノまでも、もれなく収録した、まさに「完全版」更にCDの「〜edition」を模した特製ビニールケースにポストカードまで付いてくるというではないですか！
つまり「無人島レコード２」の書き下ろしなんかも読める！……読めるよね？
手に取ってムスカのように「読めるッ！読めるぞッ！！」と言いたくもなります。
寧ろ、言おう！人前で。堂々と。

自分もレコスケくん見たいにレコード屋さんまわりが趣味なので、本の表紙を見ただけで衝動買いをしてしまった。イラスト的にはかわいいしそこそこ楽しめるのだが、作者の趣味が基本的にRock一辺倒なので、Soul・FunkとかDanceが好きな自分にとってはジョージ・ハリスンなどへの思い入れをそんなに滔々と語られても、はっきり言って良く分からないし、そこは楽しめなかった。ただ、コレクターの心理なんかを描写している場面では、あ、そうだよなあ、といった共有感が生まれる。もちろんその点を期待していたのだけれど。もう少しハリソンへの愛ばかりでなく、コレクター心理なんかがより表に出ていれば、自分のツボにはまったと思う。
