   70年代に入って、ジャズは大きな転換期を迎えた。マイルス・ディヴィスがエレクトリックジャズの可能性を追求する一方、60年代に大きな潮流となっていたフリージャズが行き詰まりを見せ始めたのだ。
   そうしたなか、チック・コリアは、アコースティックサウンドとエレクトリック楽器を無理なく融合させると同時に、メロディアスで親しみやすい曲想をもったこのアルバムを制作、世に問うた。明るく開放的でありながら高度の演奏力から生まれる心地よい緊張感をもったこの作品は、たちまち多くのファンの心をつかみ、ジャズアルバムとしては異例の大ヒットとなった。そしてこのアルバムを1つの転機として、70年代ジャズは、いわゆるフュージョン現象を迎えることとなる。（後藤雅洋）

ジャケの美しさに惹かれて購入しましたが素晴らしい作品です。

自分はハードロックを中心に聴く種類の人種ですが、また素晴らしい音楽を
発見出来たことに感謝したいと思います。
ジャケのように爽やかな音楽ですが、爽やかさだけで終わらせない力強さ、
メロディ、リズムの妙。
ロック聴きでも十分ダイナミズムを感じることが出来ます。

世界は広く、まだまだ見知らぬ素晴らしき音楽の多いことよ･･･。

チックのピアノから始まり、フローラの声が重なって不思議な空間を感じ
させるRETURN TO FOREVER。この曲を聴いたとき、ものすごい衝撃を受け
ました。
初めて聴くサウンドで、この不思議な空間はなんだろう、と。この時の感動
は今でも忘れません。
テクニックもすごくて、バルカン砲のようなチックの早弾き、スタンリー

・クラークのベースラインもかっこいいです。
　１曲目から４曲すべてがすごいです。

「サムタイム・アゴー~ラ・フィエスタ」を何回聴いたでしょうか、特に冒頭部で転調するエレクトリック・ピアノの、虹のような色彩感の美しさ。このアルバムで、エレクトリック・ピアノ（フェンダー・ローゼス）の魅力に取りつかれました。コリアのキャリアでも、やっぱり飛び抜けた作品だと思います。
